Getting Started

There are a number of ways you can use the searchgnome.com web service,

You can search for items.

You can search for items within a specific category.

You can repeat one of the 'Most Popular Searches' .

You can browse for items within a specific category.

searchgnome.com Remembers your last 10 searches, however you can delete the search history at any time.

Searching

At the top of each page yo'll see a search box something like this:

Here we've set-up a search for misspelled toshiba's in the Laptops and Notebooks category of ebay.com.

However, you can just enter the name of something you're interested in and hit GO!.

The search box above is not just an image bit is live, try navigating the category drop-down lists, or changing the eBay site to see how it works.

Searching within a specific category

The category tree is displayed as one or more drop-down lists at the bottom of the search box.
If you click on one of the categories in one of the lists, then, after a few seconds, a drop-down list of the sub-categories will be displayed to the right of the first list. You can of course move up or down the category 'tree' by selecting any of the categories in any of the drop down lists.

Browsing

If you want to browse for items in a category just select the category from the drop-down lists, clear the Search for: box and hit Go!
